2 Wolf Lords on Juggers Plastic like - On a sprue staring at me

I played a game versus Big Red. He hadn't played Space Wolves yet and I wanted to take a mean build to throw at him to see how he would survive. He did a few mistakes and I won in the end. As usual I used my Wolf Lords on Juggers to keep him tied up as my Grey Hunters just got into business and caused some shenanigans. It is how a lot of my lists play. A unit keeps you busy for 3 turns as all the other pieces get into position to deal with the survivors. It works out pretty well as you expect your big fat unit to die - makes you play a little more aggressive which can put your opponent off. It also makes them forget the objectives a lot of the time.

So I get 4 Psuedo Wolf Lords to run around and lots of guys to get up and get business done when it is all said and done. It is pretty much a very aggressive list design to put some pain out as need be. I don't know how well it will do versus DE- most likely you will have to play a corner Long Fangs and reserve game. Will see. But this means I get to make 4 more new Goats on Juggers as I want to have all plastic damnit. I might rip off the guys on the metal juggers now and just build plastic juggers for them to ride on. The riders are plastic and I can go back and do some color tweaking to make them look nicer. I will probably do that with all the other goats too and create a nicer looking force.

Right now I am waiting till next month to put in my final order for DE. This should get me enough to get my games on with the foot army I want to play with. So look for more talk about that in the coming month or so. Reaver Titan is almost together and ready to paint so look for that jerk as well as a Stompa coming soon.

So a crazy pop out and scare you portal army. The other thought was just to do one portal with an Archon and go from there as he might be a better help when he joins the Incubi. The lack of Pain tokens might be bad - I just don't know just yet. I should play a bit and find out - but I am such a play only painted player now that it just hurts to test. I will paint it all anyway. But that is a thought list. Lots of annoying crap and things that run out and scare the crap out of your :). Muahahah.

Now to think of lists I want to play with. I need to do something different with my Space Goats as my own Dark Eldar will take a bit to get together. Blargh!! Played a game with Darkwynn and was about to give up but almost pulled it out. If VP were around I would have won it that way. Either way I just felt like I had no faith in my army list and I need to get something together. Something damnit!! Plus I need to build more dudes so I can always be painting hahah.

Usually meaning I have to finish off someone else's army and then I can get onto mine for a least one paint day during the week. Mix this in with some art desires and I got a full week of Goat design. I also get to start on the reaver next week most likely :).

My troops are Meh - but really the BA troops are kinda meh when you compare them to the jack ass cousins of the Space Wolves.

1845 - So I am playing more orks and I really wish I had rokkits over lootas so much of the time. I know the one random Land Raider could ruin my day, but you just have to plan carefully and make sure that you have something in range or in target etc. The burnas are there because it is fun to say, I hit 5 with a template multiplied by 10 :). Let see some 1's and 2's. Also charging into some Termies with the Power Weapons on can do some serious damage too. Either way it should be an alright list that lets me play with some goofy crap as usual.

Simple - hopefully easy. The army starts off the table most likely - if not it becomes a big bullet. Termagaunts in front of Hive Guard in front of Tyrannofex - with Tervigons in the back casting Catalyst as need by. Genestealers outflank and I try to cause as much problems as I can. If you see lots of Jaws, drop one of the Hive Guard for Death Leaper. Either way - this list will take an hour and a half to play. More time for hanging out during an event.

Dark Eldar Thought build - there is another tweak but it depends on how making a Talos goes.

So all foot - portal list. I just don't feel like running raiders and I want things to basically say - oh you brought a lot of ML - sorry I got cover dawg. The only thing starting on the board are the two fat warrior squads with Haemonculi - who walk up 6, drop off a portal and call it a day. I found a neat thing to try and make another portal out of so look for a picture at some point.

Other changes could be to go with Talos versus the Beastmaster unit. The beast Master unit is a test thought but it might be a great - come out touch you as everything else moves around and gets into position to do something annoying. There is a lot of lance fire to pop vehicles as well as other options.

Right now I need to get the following to get this list done.

So not too bad - will see if I get it done after I finish Chris's Dark Eldar. Woohoo.

I am going to play something that is more foot orientated. I think it will give me a different sense or play and hopefully ruin all the other players long range fire support as I don't have much of the vehicles on the table top. So so I think. So without further thoughts here is my first list.

1848pts right there on the dot.

So it is a webway army - with lots of goofy options that come out. The two warrior blobs start on the table - and everything else is set up to do some surprise attacks out of the portal depending on where it is needed. The small 3 man Trueborn squads are sacrificial units as the Venoms are just fast moving annoyances that help me pile on the anti troop firepower that is needed.

Will this army work? Who the hell knows. It just feels kinda neat and fun. I get to paint lots of cool guys, get to use some neat bits and hopefully have a cool looking army. Now i just need to get a ton more warriors.

If the Blood Brides work meh - I can switch to some Incubi too if needed or change it up etc. Drop the Hellions and tweak it out a bit too. Still - barely any raiders/other nonsense means Missiles are just not nearly as good :).

Thoughts?

And some models - doing a Dark Eldar Army for a local guy so my army will be on a slow build till I finish it out. But I am doing 2 or so units a week - so the other army will probably be done in 2 or so weeks.

The World Eaters just has a rhino and 4 dogs left. Plus a display board - but that will be fun to do. Ice nids are almost done and look for some more CSM stuff and some other neat bits coming in the next few weeks :).

Goatboy's other 40k Nonsense!

So this weekend I played in a tournament at the local game store. I got in second with the Ork army I posted on Bols. I will be doing a write up there about it as I feel I could use some changes to help things out. It did alright - with two board wipes and a draw with another Ork army. So all in all good times. I do think I need to work on some orks - with Tankbusta boyz looking to make a come back as I feel I need something with more mobility. I also want to do some Burna boyz so I need to go through all my stuff and probably buy some burna bits to convert out a ton of guys who go around and say - so yeah I hit 5 with that template - lets make that 50 :).

So as usual let me write out what I want to paint as this is my beginning of the week. Well Friday is actually it - but I am writing it tonight :).

That should cover it - the week after that starts my build out of Necromunda stuff for the Spain client as well as the Reaver Titan as I should get the finished build later on this week. I will be pretty busy for the next few weeks so will see what I can get done. Or so that is my hope. Tomorrow I want to get the World Eaters Grey Hunters done and the Gargoyles. Their schemes are easy and if I can bust out those two I will feel like I should be "ahead" enough for the week after.

I still want to get some more 40k art done as I got a itch to get some drawing done. So hopefully that will be coming up for people to check out. I am still also thinking of my Dark Eldar so look for more lists then too.

I can't wait for that Storm Raven as it will mean some Goat Angels will get played versus those damned dirty Space Goats :) - I got some ideas that go against the grain that a lot of players think of so maybe my version will work. If not I will at least have some fun with goofy units :).

Beyond speed painting articles any thoughts on armies? I play Marines, CSM, Orks, Dark Eldar, and have some Nid ideas as usual? So comment away.

Woohoo - it is my Friday at work! - I do 4 10 hours days so I have long work days but 3 days to myself. So I get a full Warhammer 40k day to goof off and throw dice or build models. My wife is still out of town so I will have another day or two to get ahead on the commission side of things. This week has been pretty sweet. Here is what is done so far since Saturday.

I am hoping everyone brings my orks back so I can get a Battle Report this weekend. People have been asking about orks and as I am one of the guys that has a fully painted ork horde it is up to me to provide some green skins to die to whatever I am up against.

I plan on formulating some speed painting articles soon - so those will pop up. Man I can't wait for the Storm Raven so I can finally play some Raven Goat Angels. ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM!!!
