Goatboy 40k - Monday!

This weekend I will be heading out to the Bay Area Open. I will be bringing the Goats and have tweaked the list to be the following.

Lots of dudes mixed with well lots of dudes haha. The best troop option in the game is my highlight and I hope to do alright with it. The power set up on the Rune Priest should give me everything I need. Mix this with a 1750 point limit and I should be ok as I don't see too many death star builds at that level. And if they are there, then the rest of their army will be small and I will try to kill all their troops.

With that in mind let's look at my paint list for the week. It will be a rather small bit as I am gone for 4 days out of this normal paint extravaganza.

Goatboy - Monday Late as Hell!

Woohoo - Monday post! I got my list for the Bay Area Open built out and I just have to paint one more model and one more Storm Bolter. I think it works well and feels - well very Goatboy haha. List at the bottom.

Basically there are a ton of dudes walking around doing dude stuff. No Long Fangs. No need to go first and I can hide my army completely or go in reserve and give the middle Goat finger to my opponents army. Fun fun fun.

And the reason for the Lone Wolves to be without dogs is that when he assaults I am only giving up at most one wound. If I give up two I'm dead. That will help ensure I win combats and chase guys off the table sometimes. Both Lone Wolves will walk around holding hands and taking names. Plus if people throw wounds at a single model then awesome - that works for me hah.

But yeah - there you go. Maybe some other stuff maybe not. ARROOO!!!

Goatboy - Wednesday Late Post

Been taking the last few days off from painting. I just wanted to get my brain cleared up a bit and then I can get at it later on this week. I shouldn't have too much to do - just finishing up some troops before I get to the last of the Dark Eldar vehicles. Fun fun fun.

I will be going to the Bay Area Open. I am getting in early and will probably team up with Caldera who is coming along with me for the team event. That is the plan heh. I have to think up some 1750 lists and will post some down below in a bit. First things first - list of what I want to do this week.

So stuff to do. I might do other things - but it is the light lull in working that I need to clear my head a bit. Plus it is kind of rainy here haha. I like a lull before going to an event too.

I should have some other commissions coming in too so will see more stuff come up in the coming months. Fun fun and more fun.

Woohoo - so that is it model wise for now.

Now some lists. The event is 1750 so I have to change up my thoughts on the game a bit. Mix this with a different way to win each game and you will need a lot of troops as well as the potential to move around the field. Sitting and shooting won't help that much. So with that in mind I am thinking of some different lists that will have a) a lot of troops and b) some solid survivability. Blargh! 1750 is a mean and lean number for an army list and a lot of options get thrown out the door. There is no fat in these types of lists - just pure efficient beatings.

1750 on the nose. Lots of guys - a reserve unit (could turn into just 5 guys on foot if I want), and some long ranged firepower with a Psychic power set up to cause anyone fits.

Sorry for the late post. I have been feeling under the weather this last few days. It hasn't stopped me from painting but it has really hurt my head when trying to write things up. Hell I need to do my BOLS article for Monday. I haven't missed a week since I started and I don't plan on missing one now haha.

I am looking at going to the Bay Area open in March. I am about 99.9 % up for it. The flights are cheap and I got a place to crash. So all in all it looks good to go. I am trying to think of what to play. Do I go with my Logan lists? Or do I go with some kind of massed Space Wolves Grey Hunter list. Or do I make another Grey Knight list that isn't like what I normally play.

Will see - going to play something tomorrow hopefully. If I don't have a headache.
