Wha - a post within a few weeks of each other



I am trying to be better on updating.  Home life has gotten more stable after the move so it is easier to paint, update, and do work.  I have been currently busting out some stuff and have a few other projects to get started on.  Good times indeed.

8th has been fun - got one more event to do at the end of Sept/Oct with the Iron Halo.  I think the family is coming with me.  It will get the wife out of the house a bit and while it isn't a complete vacation for her I will be around to help with the kiddo at night.

So far the Chaos releases seems good with a ton of builds available.  There are some changes as I lost Huron's ability to "morale" fix all his Red Corsairs.  It is probably a good thing as that ability is very powerful - especially when mixed with a cheap unit.

Let's see - some list thoughts right now.  I like the idea of using the Renegades Faction to try and get some super moving Berzerkers.  Warptime says you get to move like the movement phase and as you can advance and charge you can do some nutty things.  First my initial All Khorne go go go List.

You are going big, going fast, and coming in to punch the crap out of your opponent.  I know we want one Relic somewhere - not sure which one would be good.  We all get the rules of move and advance so maybe a weapon on the Exalted Champion?

The plan is to move fast with Daemons and Zerks - try to get off double move with them - they go 6+6+2d6 and then can charge 2d6 - seems pretty good.  I could make all the Daemon Princes casters - and I bet it is better.  It is something else to think about - will play it and see how it feels.

Did get a game at Wargames Con with my Lord of Skulls.  He did some work and was a pain in the butt.  I love playing him and want to figure out a list that isn't so reliant on massed Smites.

Of course as I want to play it in a Daemon Prince list - it just means I will have access to them.  Meh - so annoying.  It feels like massed Brims will be the only way to combine the Daemon Prince love I want with the Lord of Skulls.  Let's look at the straight Daemon Prince option using and Iron Warriors Supreme Command to get a cool Warlord Daemon Prince and then the glue that is the Brim Daemon Battalion to let me have bodies.

This is just a ton of big beefy bodies and a Lord of Skulls that shoots forward and punches something.  The Brims are just Objective secured shits with the Changling to protect them.  It also has a ton of smites with stuff that most likely won't get Nerfed.  Meh it isn't as exciting as the Renegade list for sure.

I will probably playtest the Renegades as I start to work on a Huron conversion and other options.  Will see how it works out as I start to mess with it.  The swath of Zerkers does sound neat.

Alright some models to check out and will call it a day.  A plethora of down and dirty tau mixed with the last of my Khorne Berserkers.  Woohoo.

Oh man Survived the Move



Thus why no posting for a good bit.  Lord moving sucks but I did find a ton of models haha.  I have too much stuff.  I am so ready for 8th with a ton of Ork options and hopefully a fully finished Death Guard army with some 30k bits thrown in.  So exciting eh?

Right now I am pretty stoked on the upcoming Skirmish AOS coming out.  It will get me to finish a small "Khorne" force as I continue into either a Nurgle Warband or even something else.  I like the idea of having 10-15 models, going into a quick game, and having fun.  Will see - but at 10 dollars I am picking up that book.

The room continues to get put together.  Hopefully next update will get a pic as I have some pics up - all the trades put up and even some models shown.  It feels nice to be in a much bigger house.  Woohoo.

There isn't much to talk about list wise - I am mentally done with 7th so I am just waiting on the information to come out.  So that just leaves me some AOS stuff.  The idea of a full crusher army has me thinking of doing it.  It doesn't help I found all my old crushers that I won't use as they are all metal.  I like to do new stuff and if I decide to do this I need to do it up right.

Goatboy's nonsense...



Been a bit - work has been nutty - thus life is a bit busy in-between monster child, wife, life, and work.  And models - lots of models to paint.  Blah I will be buys till probably next year.  And longer then that.  To give you an idea

Been testing against the one and only Ben Mohile - which leaves me getting my ass kicked by weird shit.  This last time - gladius of salamanders - massed flamers.  It does a number on my dogs and screamers I am testing.  I can keep the Star alive - it is trying to keep up with the maelstrom.  That is the issue at hand.  Meh...

Next test for the weekend will be a massed MSU incursion list that I think might work.

I got 2 versions with differences based on the Warlord.

This one gets a close combat monster with the Lord of change - plus the ability to have some nifty warlord traits like +1 inv save to him and all the Tzeentch guys near.  Casting on a 3+, ignore first perils, etc.  I don't know if Paradox is needed - but I think there will be times I am just summoning that chariot over and over.  Will see.

Second one drops the LOC - gets Paradox on the herald and gets Fateweaver for some storm fixing and all the tzeentch spells again.  I get the feeling this one might be better - but will see.  Gonna test it and see how I like it.  I think I need to make sure to have good objective placement so I can stop pods from dropping too close etc.  Save me some future head ache.

Beyond that I might test this thing too - just to play the Kharn I painted up.

Life has been busy

 


Doesn't mean I wasn't working - but I have been busy.  Did ATC, finished some paint commissions, wrote BOLS articles, tried to keep ahead at work, and went for 2 promotions which I didn't get.  So sad times but hey - I still got work so that is good right haha.

Ok - enough of that - paint stuff etc - then lots of random stuff.

Idea is to use the GK libbies to get Gate and teleport around since I can't ride around in drop pods anymore.  I don't know if it would even work - but it could be fun as hell.  Plus you start on the table top and get moving across the field with teleports, and other dumb tricks.  Plus you got a ton of spells you can throw.  I could just do it with a ton of terminators and use Teleport homers to get around.  Tiggie would get swapped for another Terminator guy and maybe I run Dread Knights?  Meh - trying to get GK to work damnit.

Meh - it would be goofy to see.  I guess it depends on how well you do with Sanctic powers.  It is fun to think of a few Vortex's floating around the table top.

Plus the idea with all Terminators could use Teleport homers as one guy shoots forward and you start to stack around him to cast more spells.

Right now I am currently embroiled in a Tetrad thought process.  I am looking at a Tetrad and a Burning Skyhost combo.  I don't have Warp Storm control but I have MSU and a Paradox herald which can help me control things.  I might have enough MSU to not need Paradox but this is an initial thought list.

Just shoots around the table and while it can't corrupt it will do some damage.  Plus it has Paradox to ensure summoning or something else is doable.  And there is enough guys to help control things towards the DP's etc as they fly around.  I took off the Robe on the MoT guy as I don't have Fate to control Leadership checks.  I could add it back as that guy isn't going to be throwing 5+ dice to cast summoning spells so he most likely won't get perils to fall down or die etc when he takes a wound.  It is an idea - Flyer Ace might be better as the Warlord Trait of +1 inv save and +1 to Tzeentch daemons mixed with a +1 from the flyer ace means he gets down to a 3+/2+ etc without the fear of eating it to a leadership check.  I was hoping to get a game in today but my buddy seems to have gotten busy.  It just means I can spend more time finding screamers.

ATC was a lot of fun.  The escalation table screwed me one game where I was -1 to D's, Stomps, etc vs an Iron Hands star.  It meant I couldn't kill him at all with my knights and the mission was set up to favor death stars.  Meh that was a bad loss and I had another at the hands of Geoff.  Dice went tits up for me and Geoff had the luck I had in our first game where everything came up 6's.  His army was strong too - but when the dice favors one it doesn't matter I just lay there like a noodle - letting that beastly dude wreck me hehe.
