You will start to see more lists posted by me on Bols utilizing Special Characters. I write so many damned lists it is about time I used some of that crazy thoughts :). Sorry Brent - but look I won't say a damned thing about the crazy Dreadnought builds. I swears Brent - heh.
So this week there is a team tournament at the location store. 1500 pts per army, FOC per army, and abilities don't work between the armies (no FNP from the Sippie Cup for my SW). I was originally going to play my Daemons in what I thought was a regular tournament but for this team one I will just go ahead with some SW to throw down. Here is my first list thought.
HQ: Wolf Lord, Thunder Wolf, Saga of the Bear, Thunder Hammer, Storm Shield, Runic Armor, Fenris Wolves X 2
HQ: Rune Priest, Chooser of the Slain, Murderous Hurricane, Living Lightning
Elites: Wolf Scouts X 5, Plasma Pistol, Meltagun, MoW
Elites: Wolf Guard X 4, Power Armor X 4, Power Weapon X 1, Powerfist X 2, MoW
Troops: Grey Hunters X 8, Flamer, Power Weapon, MoW, Rhino
Troops: Grey Hunters X 9, Melta, Power Weapon, MoW, Rhino
Troops: Grey Hunters X 9, Melta, Power Weapon, MoW, Rhino
Heavy: Long Fangs X 6, ML X 5
Heavy: Long Fangs X 6, HB X 5
I know the Grey Hunters are set up to be similar but I feel you need a solid troop base, no matter what army. Darkwynn is my partner and he is bring some Blood Angels/Sippie Cup Drinkers. It should be interesting as I hope I have a good enough solid base to give the glass jawed Blood Angels some nice back up as needed. This store does a lot more comp thus some of the non optimized choices. Also the Wolf Scouts are built that way and I don't really want to change them out. If I had my choice I would probably have 2 of them with Meltagun, MoW as the only choices. I think the coming of Devastators and Long Fangs warrants the need of the outflank super Goat men.
Other fun stuff for my Daemons list. I need to get Crushers, DP, and convert more stuff. I am just never done with armies eh?
2000 pt list
HQ: Herald of Tzeentch, Master of Sorcery, Bolt of Tzeentch, Breath of Chaos, Chariot of Tzeentch
HQ: Herald of Tzeentch, Master of Sorcery, Bolt of Tzeentch, Breath of Chaos, Chariot of Tzeentch
HQ: Herald of Khorne, Juggernaut, Fury of Khorne, Unholy Might
HQ: SkullTaker, Juggernaut
Elites: Fiends of Slaanesh X 6, Unholy Might
Elites: Fiends of Slaanesh X 6, Unholy Might
Elites: Bloodcrushers X 3, Unholy Might, Icon of Chaos
Troops: Plaguebearers X 5
Troops: Plaguebearers X 5
Troops: Plaguebearers X 5
FA: Seekers of Slaanesh X 10, Icon of Chaos
Heavy: Daemon Prince, Mark of Tzeentch, Bolt of Tzeentch, Daemonic Gaze
Heavy: Daemon Prince, Mark of Tzeentch, Bolt of Tzeentch, Daemonic Gaze
Heavy: Daemon Prince, Mark of Tzeentch, Bolt of Tzeentch, Daemonic Gaze
This is about as spammie as you can get. I also feel it is about as good as you can get with Daemons. It is consistent with all its drop choices. Each choice has its specific job and design to work around. I need to get 2 boxes of crushers and a DP to finish it. Other options I have to tweak the list is the Super Big Nurgle DP, Chariot Heralds of Khorne and some Horrors too. I will still play the original list design as it is a lot less spam heavy with more wacky options. But if I had to play a heavy tournament I would bring this for a different change of pace that isn't so Goat related heh.
I just had my 1 year anniversary with the wifey. I just have to say she rocks as she still lets me play with these silly plastic toys. She only gives a little bit of shit for throwing dice and being consumed by statistics. Also the art sale is still going on too - so if you want some art shoot me an email and I can hook you up. $25.00 dollars.
Latest piece I did below. Hopefully more to come as I feel a bit ready to get started on doing more art. Fun times.

Final Daemon's List - fully painted and complete
Daemon's army is done. The only thing I will be looking at is adding in a Blood Crushers crew as I win stuff hopefully from tournaments. That is the plan. This is the army I will be using for the next few months, as I let the Goats rest a bit until I feel I can get back to them again. There is a temptation to try something wacky with them, with a push into some different unit builds etc, so will see. I will post those as I think about them. I might also look at completing more of a BA Super Dread force too as I feel that could be fun too. I will post those as I think them up.
So onto my Daemon list - again a 2000 point list.
HQ: Herald of Tzeentch, Master of Sorcery, Chariot, Bolt of Tzeentch, Breath of Chaos - 130pts
HQ: Herald of Tzeentch, Master of Sorcery, Chariot, Bolt of Tzeentch, Breath of Chaos - 130pts
HQ: Herald of Khorne, Chariot of Khorne, Unholy Might, Blessing of the Blood God, Fury of Khorne - 115pts
HQ: SkullTaker, Chariot of Khorne - 160pts
Elites: Fiends of Slaanesh X6, Unholy Might - 190pts
Elites: Fiends of Slaanesh X6, Unholy Might - 190pts
Elites: Fiends of Slaanesh X6, Unholy Might - 190pts
Troops: Plaguebearers X 5 - 75pts
Troops: Plaguebearers X 5 - 75pts
Troops: Plaguebearers X 5 - 75pts
Heavy: Daemon Prince, Mark of Tzeentch, Master of Sorcery, Bolt of Tzeentch, Daemonic Gaze, Iron Hide - 200pts
Heavy: Daemon Prince, Mark of Tzeentch, Master of Sorcery, Bolt of Tzeentch, Daemonic Gaze, Iron Hide - 200pts
Heavy: Daemon Prince, Mark of Nurgle, Wings, Iron Hide, Breath of Chaos, Cloud of Flies, Unholy Might, Daemonic Flight - 265pts
The idea is that I really overload the board with multi-wound shenanigans. Skulltaker is there to take a bit out of nids as he gives an excellent way to pop any of the big fatties with a roll of a 4+ to wound :). You got to love that. Plus he works well versus Nob squads too. The fiends are fiends and the DP make up lets me have a mini Thirster that can give me some chance at times of busting a LR. Makes you feel like an ork and hoping some of your PK's hit. All in all I think it will be an alright list and give me something new to play :). Which in reality is all I really want. Just something different. I can be a jerk with my Space Goats :).
I want to get a Blood Crushers squad done with 2 Heralds of Khorne on Juggers for that squad. That is the future plane anyway, with two Bolt Squads of Horrors to round out the troops fully. Fun times in the Goatboy Camp.
This week I am finishing up some commissions and starting on some big stuff. I want to get a Warhound started this week too, so hopefully I can get the top part done as the guys are fully finished. From there it is some more nids and other random bits and pieces and I can call it a day :).
I am looking at playing the Boyz GT up in Rochester, NY depending on the money/time situation. So hopefully you will see me there. Most likely it will be my Daemons as my Goats can be a little much at times. Wish there were more GT's in Texas or within a few hours drive in the coming months. I don't feel like playing Fantasy right now, so just 40k stuff.
That is it for now, will post more often in the coming weeks as my brain gets to working hah.

Extra thoughts
So as you saw on BOLS I am working on a Daemon list. It is a bit unorthodox as well as internet approved with its pieces. A lot of it has to do with how my conversions are going and I just want to go with it. Sometimes you just need to play with models that make you grin to throw them on the table. And this is the list. I do wish I could have a greater daemon in there. But most likely I would do some kind of Goat headed stupid crap thing as I am nutty. But here is the second thought as I started building the list.
HQ: Herald of Tzeentch, Chariot, Bolt of Tzeentch, Master of Sorcery, Breath of Chaos
HQ: Herald of Tzeentch, Chariot, Bolt of Tzeentch, Master of Sorcery, Breath of Chaos
HQ: Herald of Khorne, Blessing of the Blood God, Charoit, Unholy Might, Fury of Khorne
HQ: Herald of Khorne, Blessing of the Blood God, Charoit, Unholy Might, Fury of Khorne
Elites: Fiends of Slaanesh X 6, Unholy Might
Elites: Fiends of Slaanesh X 6, Unholy Might
Elites: Fiends of Slaanesh X 6, Unholy Might
Troops: Plague Bearers X 5
Troops: Plague Bearers X 5
Troops: Plague Bearers X 5
Troops: Plague Bearers X 5
Heavy: Daemon Prince, MoT, Iron Hide, Bolt of Tzeentch, Daemonic Gaze
Heavy: Daemon Prince, MoT, Iron Hide, Bolt of Tzeentch, Daemonic Gaze
Heavy: Daemon Prince, MoN, Iron Hide, Wings, Breath of Chaos, Unholy Might, Cloud of Flies
That hits me right at 2000 points. I changed out the Blood Crushers due to overall cost of getting a squad of 6 and the other Daemon Prince because I had a cool conversion idea after the extra parts of the two DP's as well as some other cool resin bits from Troll Forged Minis. I think it will look really sweet :). But that is my first Daemon Army thoughts.
The Heralds are done, and I build the first fiend squad. I have Plague Bearers from an army from before, so I won't have to build them. I am getting 3 more Cold Ones and this will complete my fiends needed for the entire army. All and all pretty good with very little needing to be purchase. Always a good sign when building a new army hah.
But here are some pics too. For enjoyment!

Woohoo I survived WarGamesCon/BolsCon
This weekend was a hell of a lot of fun and I got to talk face to face to a ton of people. Hopefully I didn't piss anyone off and get a nice round of cheater mic cheaterson comments on my supposed Casino dice :). Kidding aside this event was a lot of fun. I mean seriously, we leave our hometowns/basements to have a weekend of fun with only conversations about little plastic models, beer, and hopefully some mindless bitching about bad dice rolling.
I judged most of the event and only played in the team tournament and was the ringer at the end of the Winners Bracket. I played with Brent from Strictly Average and I had a blast in all 3 games. In fact, even though our armies were unoptimized we did pretty well with what we had to play with. So all in all it was an awesome time. Here is a very brief hazy memory Battle Report.
I was playing massed Grey Hunters and Brent was with Footdar. I almost wanted to stop Eldrad's mental shenanigans with a 4+ from my Rune Priest but I decided not too.
Game 1 - Chaos Marines and Tyranids. First of all, I accidentally marked them as a Good game versus a Great game. These guys fucking rocked and deserved a Great Game. I was dumb and tired but they were great. They had shirts and were called Chaotic Gribbles or something like that. They wore purple shirts. They had some Tervigons, hormagaunts, and other things too. We ended up winning and I got to JaWs out a tervigon like a jerkface. They blew up some termagaunts, they pooped themselves and ran off of the board like a bunch of whiney babies. Great game with some good guys. I think they were named Dan and Mike? They were not from around these parts and drove down to have some fun in the hot hot heat of Texas.
Game 2 - Orks and Daemons with the name of Korks. It was a father and son team, Caleb and Bill. I played Bill last year at Bolscon and I got lucky with a seize the initiative that took out some fire from his Marines. I also made all my saves on my nob biker squad too. It was not the most fun game for Bill and he wanted to apologize to me. I told him that I knew the game went south with that steal and not to worry, we were going to have fun here. And we did. It was a great game that had us winning by 10 or so points in the end. He had some Plague Bearers left that my Grey Hunters just couldn't kill. Awesome game and a great looking army to boot. The Plague Bearer conversions were awesome.
Game 3 - Was versus Team Twilight. Space Wolves and Blood Angels. First of all, a big thank you to Mike for giving me that purity seal. All weekend long I had people asking me where I got it. That thing is awesome and I think Mike should make more then the ones for his opponents and sell them for beer money. It was awesome. Kenny was the other player and it was great to finally play him too. Their armies look amazing on the table top and the game was a lot of fun. I did get to JaWs a Saga of the Bear guy off the table so at least I did something cool. We lost this game like some Sad Pandas but all in all it was a fun time.
I ended up playing as a ringer and had 3 good games too. I got lucky and got to play Romeo from Battle Foam and barely squeaked out a 26 to 25 win. It was a lot of fun and Romeo kicks some ass. As do his bags. I should have made him give me a bag by beating him haha.
But really this weekend was a lot of fun and I hope more people come next year. We doubled in size from the year before and I didn't hear a single bitch and moan throughout the weekend. I think next year we will jump up a bunch more and hopefully have a monster sized team event. 8th edition fantasy will be fully ready to play and I think we will have a banner year for miniature beatdowns.
After watching Brent's Daemon army work I have decided I am going to start thinking about throwing together one. It will give me something to do that isn't so Goatheaded :). Look for some thoughts in the coming weeks as I get the plans together for my Heralds and Fiend thoughts. This army won't be metal at all so I need to do some serious planning. Initial list thought is below.
HQ: Herald of Tzeentch, Chariot of Tzeentch, Bolt of Tzeentch, Breath of Chaos

Elites: Fiends of Slaanesh X 6, Unholy Strength

That sits right at 2000 points and might create an interesting army to mess around with. I got the basic idea for my Herald, I just need to make it to see if it works :). Look for some more thoughts on Space Wolves this week too.
