Late Monday

This weekend was a bit of a blur.  I had to complete two Forgefiend/Mauler build and paints plus a bunch of other stuff to ensure my weekend to Denver didn't eat my work time.  Beyond that I laid a nice turd on people's ideas on BOLS and just came away thinking of new Chaos builds and other nonsense.  I will be playing CSM for Feast and figured hell I will show you the list I am bringing.

Weird and different it should be fun.  It has enough bits of stuff to help me out versus most armies.  Demons give a lot to CSM and I would expect more lists with this type of Ally configuration to come out in the coming months. As more people quit bitching about Allies it will end up being a lot more interesting.  I also wrote this tweak to the list I posted on BOLS as well.

It is an interesting list as everything has different options.  You have other ways to knock the points down but it feels right.  I wish I could MoN the dragon :(.  Or the Forge Fiend.  Oh well.  It does have 19pts left over so I could make a Cultist squad 30 - it just doesn't feel right haha.  SACRED NUMBERS DAWG!

AROO!!! Another update?  I thought up a random list before crashing out last night.  I think it would be pretty dirty as it is designed to not really lose a lot as it slowly grinds its way to suppression.  I call it - Revenge of the Zombie Orks!

The big annoying thing is the the KFF states the following.






So basically my Zombies will get a 5+ as some of them will always be near that jerk of an Ork.  plus you have 120 Fearless things to sit around the table and gum up the board for those pesky Necron flyers.  And assault armies get to kill a lot of guys as well.  The termies are there to walk around with Typhus and cause problems.  I don't MoN them because it is extremely expensive and would rather have the ability to shoot better guns.  You could get them Marked if you wanted to drop the Kannons on the ork side.  I just run them because they are randomly good at times.  But a 70 pt drop of them means you could also take out the Aegis and find yourself with 170 pts to use on other things if you wanted too.  You could find a way to up the Termies with a MoN (total would be 60pts, and maybe add in two more Combi weapons at 10pts or find a Chainfist at 12pts) and Veterans of the Long War or look at Reaper Autocannons as well.  It isn't a terrible idea as you should have enough nonsense to remove flyers and just use the ability to cover all the objectives and make it hard for them to drop on them.

Is this list the bees knees?  Who knows - it is a thought list and I don't need much to make it (or much to buy as I have things in boxes).  I am hoping Mantic sends us some Zombies so I can throw a few units of jerks together for BOLS. 

Tonight I paint my screamers and build and maybe start the Havocs I need for my Feast army.  Plus start to paint up my display board.  Yes they are in some kind of blue water and on mini islands.

Painted this guy while Minus67 and Caldera were playing a game.  Woohoo!  And he has been dropped once already!  Hooray plastic!  Paint this in parts for sure.

A client wanted me to do 2 of these and magnetize them up.  Head and arms are separate.  The lash whips just don't work with Magnets so we just have to deal with him being a bad ass this way.

He only has 3 more credits before he becomes an Accountant!

Final 5 for the 15 NSM I needed for Feast - I have parts for another 5 and will do it.  The guy with the weird backpack is the Icon/Apocathery guy.  Dakka dakka mutha effer!

Monday - Paint lists and Army Thoughts

I submitted my Feast of Blades list.  It is rather random as I felt like having a bit more fun with my army and I didn't want to paint a crap ton of duplicates.  I will post that list later on for those interested.  I did think of some other lists based on FAQ's that will most likely come out and shut people up hehe.  But before I get into that - let's get my paint list.  Pics of models will come on Wednesday - I finished a few things this weekend.

That is it for now - a ton of crap to do.  Pics of the stuff I painted will show up on Wednesday.  It is a big list but I am a machine.  I have to paint at home as work isn't letting me mess up my desk hah.  So I have to not go out and try to throw in 3-4 hours these next 3 nights before Thursday when I have to give my army to a buddy who is driving up on Friday.  20 bucks to keep my dragon from eating it is pretty good I say.

Alright - some lists.  I am calling these mean CSM lists.  These are the types of things I might play for Adepticon and just utilize the ability of the army to grind out wins.

Basically you build up a twinky of doom that is very hard to get rid of.  You don't need 2 dragons as you can easily put in other options if you wanted too.  I might drop one Dragon for a squad of 5 Chaos Spawn to run out and get stuck in like a tick.  In fact - it isn't a terrible little unit if you do it this way.

Chaos Spawn X 5, MoN - 180pts - you might need to drop to one Havoc squad but it is something to look at. The NSM just walk behind the a blob of cultists and just pour down fire like the bunch of jerks they are.  Typhus hangs out with the Oblits and gives them Fearless as well as a nice FU unit if need be.  CSM is limited in Melta at times and depending on your area you could drop that unit for something else.  You could add one or two Plague Marine squads to help out as needed.
 
But it is one of those lists that will hurt the stuff that will get onto your objectives and you can gum up the midfield as needed.  If you want to drop out the flyers you can look at something else to shoot stuff in the air as needed.  Or blast masters in the NSM.  Just random bits.  Still I think the list is very solid of a start and could use some tweaking as needed.

I really like adding demons but it gets expensive.  I got a game in with Darkwynn and just was able to stuff him in his corner and take the first blood after getting seized on.  Woohoo!  Still it will take a bit to get my army fixed up.

Plus I want to fix the stairs this weekend or at least start them.  I got the idea of how so I get to do a test.  I am also seeing Garbage tomorrow night as well.  Hehe - so good times I hope this week.

I saw Perks of Being a Wallflower - and it was awesome if you grew up in the 90's.  It just screamed of that day and age right before CD's came out.  Good movie if you like that sort of High School coming of age type of movie.  It is a bit rough on some of the thoughts but it makes you think which is always a nice thing.

Oh my goodness!

It's Monday and CSM lists are a brewing.  I will get pictures coming up soon - I just didn't get time to get them off my camera to get up here.  So no new model pics till Wednesday.  I did get a lot done and have started to work on my list for Feast.  It is not spam heavy like the list I posted on BOLS.  A lot of the time I do that to just guage how annoying commentors can be.  And they were. 

Hell commentors everywhere have been lame.  They complain that the codex isn't as point and click as GK was.  They are upset that the book is more like corrupted marines instead of full on batshit Demon nonsense.  In fact they are just being annoying and complaining.  I am happy with the book.  In fact - I am extremely excited about the nonsense I see within the hallowed pages of 40k nonsense.  The list I plan on bringing to feast is designed to hold some objectives, be annoying, and just help me continue to play the game in as exciting a way as I feel is possible. 

So with that - let's look at some of my list thoughts. First is a straight CSM list and the one I am thinking of for Feast is a Hybrid with Demons.

The Cultists control the Quadgun and then I shoot things as needed.  The lord as a bit too expensive but it he seems fun as he runs around with some Chaos Spawn.  I might need more but if you leave it small enough it isn't nearly as mean to get rid of.  Plus a bunch of spawn running around sound neat.  I think there is some power there as well.

Comes out to 1995 - I get 5 scoring units - some nice mix of weenie stuff and anti horde.  I can kill Land raiders with the Screamers - cover the field and have some unit holders in the Chaos Spawn.  Hit a unit, cause a lot of wounds and hope for the best.  If I could drop the Veteran of the Long War I could get a Chaos Mutation - but you can't really test much with that.  The Cultists man the Quad gun as needed.

I would need to paint another 30 cultists, the Dragons and lots of other stuff.  But it is a thought list and I think it might have the tools to do alright.  I am just more looking at keeping the back end strong etc.  The other idea is put a Dark Apostle on a Bike but I like the idea of a Sorcerer with Chaos Lord.  T5 without needing to take Nurgle is pretty sweet.  Plus the jerk can shoot out, punch someone in the face and keep things stuck for a bit as needed.  Plus if I hit Endurance on the Sorcerer with Noise marines - well Relentless assholes that shoot a lot sounds pretty good right?  Have to check if that works with Salvo.  If so - dakka dakka.

Woohoo - Chaos is coming!  And I can't wait to get my book and start brain storming.  Plus I need to get my CSM ready for Feast.  Thinking of doing a Demon bomb with it as well - basically the one I posted on BOLS.

I am buying 2 Mauler Fiends and 1 Hell Drake.  I bet I use more Hell Drakes as I think with some special work they can be pretty mean.  Kill those AA guns fast.  And you will slowly grind out the win.   Next week it is CSM lists for Monday and them some ideas as well. Hopefully they will still work well.

Currently I am looking to get all 70 Cultists done this week.  I got 49 done - have another 9 primed and got my next two batches in as well.  Woohoo!  It is looking like a bunch of jerks ready to go.  I also got a Dark Apostle painted up as well tonight.  Woohoo!  It is converted off of a Chosen (which I am sure a lot of people will be using etc).  I cut of some bits, add some other crap and viola we got a guy spouting some nonsense about Chaos.

Let's write up this paint list for the week as well.
