Goatboy - 40k and other stuff!

Another day painting. I had a crazy weekend. I got some educational commission work done, finished the Chaos Reaver Titan, got my weekly miniature painting sprayed (most of it), and did some art work for another client. Fun fun fun. Basically I woke up, started working and tried not to get too bogged down. The life of a freelancer can be annoying - especially when you have a day job to make things fit bill wise :).

Looks like peeps are mad at me again online. I think it comes from me writing a lot and being a "face" most of the time. Everyone who has met me has not said anything terrible about me. Well not to my face hah. Still it is kinda funny - especially to those who chat with me online. The hated Goatboy. I should just change my name to Hateboy. If I did that Mr. Black would have to stop hating me though. He has that unnatural fear of Goat like animals.

So to get things started - current paint this week.

I can take down 3 light things with the set up of Long Fangs. I got a lot of troops and other bits and pieces. It has different HQ characters too - given the idea of the Captain, Chaplin, and Squad Leader type of guy. It has a Wolf Claw dude riding a horse - which is funny as hell looking haha. So I think it will work and be it. I need to find one more Heavy Bolter dude and I will be done!

I played two games with the Storm Ravens. I lost to Big Red on a turn 5 Fritz win :). And I won versus JWolf when I made almost all the 4+ cover save hits on the Storm Ravens and then watched as my stuff got mixed in and killed stuff. I think everything I shot I killed or hurt - with a gun that JWolf shot scatter on himself and blow up his own tank. It was just one of those games for him.

I think Marines would benefit the most from the Storm Raven if they got it. Wolves would have some issues as it would be a heavy and take up Long Fang spots for a rather expensive vehicle. If they could fit Thunder Wolves in there it would be an auto in - but thankfully it most likely can't so we won't have to worry about that BS. It would be fun to get Bjorn into the zone more though. Of course he wouldn't attach via the Anus like normal dreads. It would be crotch all the time haha.

Alright - enough of that here are some painted things. The Reaver will get better pics later this week and then it is shipped off to Canada.

Goatboy's Update - woohoo

Welp we got another snow or super cold coming in - means I need to build shit tonight to get stuff painted this week. Most likely it will be a build week/web site clean up week. Will see. I also got freelance art stuff to do too. Woohoo!!! For those wondering blog titles cost a flat $25.00 to do. Played a tournament this Saturday with the Word Bearers. Went 1-1-1 with them and feel like I need to tweak some things. Current "list" with changes below. It really steams from needing more feet on the table top so that means painting more dudemens. It never ends for the Goatboy. At least whoever buys the army will have a lot of options with it as is usually when I build an army up.

Game 1 - Chaos with lots of Khorne Bezerkers - Chris was his name and he is a young guy. Basically everything that could go wrong went wrong. He tried to lash my bikers -I made my 5+ save to stop it. From there it was just a chomp chomp chompie chomp the whole way through. He failed all his cover saves. It was like - one lascannon shot - hit, penetrate, and pop you out. Funny thing is that he scatter off me and landing on my bikes who got the 2+ trick - and I failed 3 of them with 1's. Poops! I maxed out on this game.

Game 2 - Playing Darkwynn with his Dark Eldar. I lost this one and the big blow was losing my long fangs after one round of shooting at them to a failed leadership check. 9 is good right? If they stayed around I could have dumped all his mobility and then just shot him out - but that left me with enough crucial fire to take down his flyers. Good game for sure and a good "learning" game as I felt I just needed more feet on the table for sure.

Game 3 - Playing Brandon or Minus67 with his Calgar marines. I killed all his troops but it was one of those weird games where things were going wrong both sides. We tied in the end but it was like - 7 Missiles and I only hit with 3 type of game. Good game all the way as usual with Brandon. Calgar survived a crap ton of damage with his 4+ as did my Wolf Priest. My Wolf Lord did not die to Lascannons and was a pain the ass too. The mission was bad but that will all get fixed next time.

I got 4th overall with Brandon getting 5th due to not being fully painted. Darkwynn got 2nd too. Good game. I bought a Storm Raven so look for the Goat Angels to come out in a few months as I get ready to play some Death Dreads in your face.

Goatboy's 40k Extra - WOOHOO I make people mad.

Well if you are a BOLS reader you know I kicked someone's puppy, took their parking spot, and probably peed in some cheerios. It is pretty interesting and I wonder if they hate the Wolves dex more then they hate the army. At least I got a of it looks good :). I guess people just hate people playing "Chaos" Wolves. So in order to take away the whole Word Bearers vibe the army is now called - THE GRAMMAR WOLVES!!! - Keeping grammar safe through out the galaxy - bearing words and making sure the dull point of prose of sharp and aggressive!

It is pretty interesting to see that even though the army is fully painted - wyswig - and within the rules of the game it still makes people mad. Oh well. I will play it - have a good time with opponents as they beat up on my little ponies and have a good time. You would think people would be happy I am not all about Goat this and Goat that. I do plan on painting Grey Knights as Grey Knights. I like the design so I am all about it. Shit isn't this game about having fun?

I keep getting more and more excited about the UK trip for Geek Nation Tours. I am bringing along my awesome wife so she can experience Britain. Lucky for us Teras is going to be doing some tour stuff for her that fits within the gaming tour. So if you are thinking of going and have a wife, girlfriend, etc that wants to go to Britain - see a lot of cool stuff - but the gaming thing might not be up their alley - Teras can set something up for ya. It should be an awesome time and I can't wait to get overseas to have people kick my Hot Dog, Apple Pie, and Gas Guzzling SUV butt all over the place.

I am going to do some interviews on BOLS with the tour from past tour peeps. It should be fun and a lot of them are going again - which is pretty awesome as they obviously had a blast. Woohoo!!! This is gonna be fun.

Man it is cold as hell - went from 65 - 25 in a few hours - you got to love Texas right. Means I don't get to do as much painting - so I will just catch up on Art stuff :). Which is always good.
