Goatboy - Monday - XMAS EVE!

Spooky!!! AROOOO!!!  It is almost Monday when I started this - so I say it is a Monday when people might read it.  If they read it etc.  I have some thoughts on my next BOLS 3rd party review article coming - it will be a build a customer Plague Marine.  You can see them below as I went ahead and finished 10 of them (really 7 for the squad as I did 2 melt/2 plasma/PF/PAxe).  I also finished up my customer Typhus to match my army and got some test Plague Zombies done as well.

So yeah - not much this week as Xmas is gonna get in the way.  I want to get more Zombies as well as work on my Table War case to get it set up.  Doug just sent it to me a few day ago and I want to get it together and set up for my armies to showcase on a BOLS review.  I have to decide on an army build eh?

I played a game this weekend - 2000 points against my coworker Neil.  I won in the end and find the Mauler Fiends really interesting.  If you have good terrain they are decent answers to armor as they can scoot around, jump out and just punch the crap out of something.  Other things are not the best and you have to watch how many Hull Points they have on them.  My Juggerlord did kill himself rolling 1's on the demon weapon and I shorted how many attacks he had a few times.  I didn't know he sits at 5 standing still - so 7 on the Charge eh?

Current Assault Heavy list - still unsure of the Sorcerer Bike guy - but I think the Black Mace still has merit.  I just like Telepathy even though lately it hasn't rolled much of anything in games.  It makes me think I might just make him a Chaos Lord and leave it with Typhus coming in to give me the bodies I need to complete my Horde style set up.

Typhus will be manning the laser gun and I have zombies slowly moving forward.  If I fear flyers I can dump the Mauler fiends for 2 sets of Veteran Autocannon Havocs.  I keep thinking getting in some Screamers with the Masque might be good.  But then I want to add in Flamers and just - well go all gungho with the flamer/death action etc.  Still - I love the idea of 60 zombies to help keep drop pods away and then I get to move in and abuse them unit at a time with the Spawn and Jugger lord.  I also keep thinking the Aegis might be worthless more and more as it just makes you limited in where you are going to be etc.  Oh well - Maybe I will write up some tactics for 6th edition that tries to fit in all the meanest bits - horde + flyers + pain.

The best list still looks to be a Hybrid Horde/Flyer bit - but will have to test that out a bit more.  More and more orks is what I say.

Yeah it is nutty - and it should be fun as hell.  I will get there and get stuff done as needed.  I want to see how the Spawn and Lord like guys do.  This will help me see if I need to go into this awesome CSM/Demons build I want to try as well.  It might work.  Will see it depends on if I want to like the Screamers or not.

I will post how it does for me tomorrow.  It should be fun none the less and will make people chuckle as I try to get the Maulerfiends to do something - anything.  I still think a Typhus design will win out in the end - but will see.  At 2000 points you can do some nutty things with multiple Sorcerer's but will see.  Dakka dakka in your face.  And lord I have 90 orks that look different hahaha.  I think I have another 30 I can repaint and get the magically number of 120.

It was for a BOLS battle report against BulleyMike.  It was the Relic game and he won it by running off with the Relic with his Scoring Warlord.  It was a very fun game and that list above was not designed for good times for my opponent.   5 Flyers is a bit much and I found some missing bits with the lack of troops etc.  The Doom Scythe sucked it - but you will see in the report.  I need another squad of boyz and the Lootas might not have been needed.  If I drop both of them - that is 325 points - the perfect amount for another Shoota Boyz squad and maybe amping up the Dakkajets to 3.  Hell dropping the lord and doing some other tweaks gets me this list.

Goatboy - Monday

I didn't get a chance to play at the event this weekend.  I wasn't feeling the best and Katie had the day off so it was a better choice to just make it a date day.  I got some things done, bought some stuff, and then got a chance to chill at home and get to feeling better.  The yearly cold is coming so I am trying to make it through.

I have been working some OT to save up some extra cash to buy a new desktop.  My wife uses my laptop most of the time so I need to have one that I can do my Photoshop nonsense on.  I have been working on a few things and messing with some comic ideas.  I will post those in here before long for those interested.  I am also working on amping up the art on Plastic Dudesmen as well. Fun times indeed.  I am almost hitting a 100 strips which means I should look at a book.  Hrm.  I also want to show the art I am working on for the Adepticon team group shot.  Fun times!

I got a ton of painting done this weekend and look at the bottom for a lot of it.  I got some things I need to build this week and some future articles for BOLS.  I started a new article series that plans on reviewing 3rd party stuff.  Some I get to review from the companies but a lot of them are things I buy because they look cool.  Really as long as it is a plastic bit I will at least look at it and give some opinion.

This week is a pretty small week.  I usually do more as I get towards the end.  I worked OT so I painted a bit as I sat at work for the long hours.  I caught up a bunch and my table is full of DA guys.  I figured out a method on the green that isn't very mind numbing so it isn't too difficult.  Fun times indeed!

The best thing is the entire thing is painted already too haha.  It is close to the meanest list I can think of.  In fact it is right on it beyond getting another 30 boyz in there.  It is the horde mentality plus flyer nonsense that pushes it over the edge.  I might write about it again at some point and see what people think of it and give me "ideas" to beat it.

I think I might be playing the horde part of the ATC team if I get a chance to go again next year.  I think it will be a good anti necron flyer army as you cover the board and make a lot of bad choices for your opponent.  In fact I think as the game moves forward you will see people getting board with their 50 dollar buttered rolls and move towards the balanced - Armor 13 mass of Necrons.  Current Horde on Paper.

I could drop the Weird boy for a Big Mek - but it is something to think about.  This list would give most armies problems - except for assault heavy stuff that could kill lots of orks.  Either way it is a thought and an Idea depending on what I can play at the ATC.  If I can get Chaos as a friend it might not be too bad to look at a Sorcerer and some melta options.  And a Dragon - dragons are cool.

Yup - the title says it all.  I have had a slow week so far with some small bits of model painting done.  I finished up most of the paint list and with some OT worked I am just a bit burned this week model wise.  Will see if I get some more done on Saturday as I come in to cover some vacation/promotion/no long at work stuff etc.  Fun times indeed.

1998 - Aegis is there to ensure I get a 4+ cover save on the Guns and a 2+ when Lootas go to ground.  I could try to add in a Quad gun and a Dakkajet instead of the Oblits but this one is done as well.

So yeah - these are the lists I am thinking about if I wake up on Sunday to game.  Which one do you think is the best?  Which one is the most interesting?  Which one might actually be fun?

Woohoo Sunday?

Lord I worked a lot this week.  I am helping covering for vacation/promotion/firing etc so I will be working a lot haha.  I am going to save up some cash to get a new desktop computer.  My wife uses the laptop a lot so I figured I need something to do art etc on.  Fun times indeed.

So with that in mind I painted a ton of crap this last weekend.  Let's start with my new list for the week as well - then an army list and then what I painted.  Woohoo!

Woohoo - yeah so the list is odd but I finished a crap ton of stuff these last two days (20 zombies, 2 Night Scythes, 10 Immortals, Dark Angel Characters, Sorcerer, Cryx thing).  So yeah - I caught up pretty well haha.

Current List - Played a game with a slight tweak but the player quit when I cast the Hallucination power on some Wraiths in combat and made them not be able to attack the spawn.  He had a bit of a rough game before with one player not happy with playing his list so he wasn't prepared for the nonsense.  Oh well. I found the 5 flyers too much and I think I only need one Dragon.

Sunday - Woohoo!

Thanksgiving week too!  Wife is out of town for a bit - so that means I will probably be painting up a storm for 2 days.  Woohoo!  Plus watching some scary movies as the wife doesn't do well with scary movies.  She isn't scared - it is just that it gives her odd dreams.  So with that in mind - let's see what will I watch as I sling paint around.

Most likely I will watch VHS at least.  I will probably rewatch Cabin in the Woods as well.  Will see.  But with that in mind let's look at what I want to paint and do.

I finished off the Dragon this weekend - I have done 4 so far.  I might also build out my second Forge Fiend/Mauler Fiend if I find all the magnets.  I got Thanksgiving at my mom's house and we are having turkey and some crepes for desert.  I know different but I love me crepes.  Thin pancakes are jawesome.

Look for the initial Heavy Flamer designs for our Adepticon team.  I want to get them done and do some shirt printing nonsense as well.  Will see what I end up doing as this week should be slow but I will be working a lot.  We are going to be down people as some other colleagues got promotions and a firing.  Means my small group is going to be in a world of hurt for a bit.

I am also going to buy a new computer soon so my wife can take my laptop.  She keeps using it and I don't need a portable device as much anymore (phone and Ipad does most of the things I want when I am not at home).  I am thinking a Mac Mini and adding more ram.  It should do all I need it to do and if I get bored I can upgrade to a SSD and watch the fire come off that fucker.

Currently I am just looking at how to get that list I posted on BOLS today to work right.  I might dump the Scarabs for something else - so will see.  Right now this will be painted up - then I start looking at ways to make it more interesting (ie swap shit).

Right now - this is what will be painted first and I want to look at going into Bikes instead of Spawn.  Will see if it works.  Plus I could do a Sorcerer on a bike to utilize Telepathy.  Fun stuff indeed.  This should be painted by next week when I can play it in a Battle Report - or so I hope.
