Woohoo Writing this before I crash out

Blargh - another week and more minis painted. Lots of neat stuff to do. I have been experimenting with NMM and hopefully I can figure out some other uses for it as I delve into actual metal in NMM to see if I can find the happy medium I enjoy. I like how I got the gold but need to find a good way to do the silver. Maybe more blue?

Anyway beyond that I keep coming up with more Grey Knights lists for Ard Boyz. Won't post them yet as I still have some thoughts. I think I am going with a base of the build I took to the Alamo and won overall with but will see. No crazy Inquisitor tricks as I just don't feel it is worth it. Just straight up Knight with Knife in Face action. How tired is everyone about talking about Grey Knights eh?

I wrote out a Thunder Wolves list that I think would be a decent Ard Boyz play list. It is tempting to bring this as it has the sheer brute force I like for the simple missions. I posted it on another blog but here it is again.

Mean, lean and just plain aggressive. It should give most lists fits as the Trio of ass kickary gets close and ready to Dance Punch their way to freedom. And hell 50 troops is pretty dang sweet!

Beyond that I want to tweak out my Iron Warriors a bit too. Probably take Meph and Sanguinor for some kind of idiotic beat down machine. I don't think I have to paint anything else other then losing out on my Furioso Librarian - Mr. Stabby Stab. It still has 5 Dreads in it though and I can go around punching things and flying around and stuff. That is always fun. It is something like -

Something like that sits at 2000 points I think. Don't want to open Army Builder so I might be wrong. I think the Priest might not have a spec weapon but who the hell knows. That is my initial thought. It should be fun, punchy, and just plain neat to play with. The army is painted too so hooray beer.

Oh yeah I am still thinking of the mini game. I still want to go with D6's because it just feels right. I played too many years of Vampire and find the d10's to be annoying. I just don't like the shape for some reason. But more thoughts I hope later on this week.

Now onto a paint week. I am finishing a ton of stuff up and getting some commissions out of my house damnit.

Not an insane week but still I should get a lot of it done. That is my hope anyway. Now onto some pics.

Goatboy - This week is going to be a big one

I had just gotten back from Adepticon and I have started on my missions to complete 3 armies in a few weeks. I am almost there with one army, got all the pieces for another army, and waiting on more pieces for the final army. Woohoo - plus I did a ton of art last week. Most cost for a drawing for your blog title etc is $25.00 - more complicated stuff goes up a bit more but most of the time it is a flat $25.00 bucks. Time frame is usually a few days depending on what I have to draw for the week. But first art.





Woohoo had a productive Saturday to get all of that done. I also did a Grey Knights Dreadnought and the final Ostrich Dread from the Iron Warriors build. I am currently waiting on the heads from Pig Iron Productions. I order two sets so I got enough heads to do any other weird things I feel like for the army. I am one troop and something else to finish the list out. Not sure what I can add as all the Elites and Heavies are taken up and I only got 115 points and I don't want to go to nutty and try to find a mini. I do have a Baal sitting in a box so that might get Iron Warriored/Chaos up.

The Blood Ravens is going to be a project I need to finish by the end of the month/first week of May. The client is going to be on leave and he wants to throw down with it so my plan is to bust out 3 units a week :). It isn't a huge army (1500 pts) so I am pretty sure I can do it. I planned it out. Plus I will be finishing the Iron Warriors as well as try to finish the Grey Knights by Alamo 40k GT. I think I can do it as I found a scheme that isn't mind killing or hand destroying. Woohoo!!

Upcoming stuff after that is more Grey Knights for another client, a bigger Grey Knights order, Speed Freaks for Charity and Speed Freaks for a client. Woohoo this year is starting out sweet. As usual if you want a bag drawn on find me at a tournament and I can throw some ink on it. Fee is usually $25.00 or trade. Whatever I am easy :).

GKLibbie - Here I can add a utility guy. Shrouding, Sanctuary, Might of Titan, Warp Rift - 170 pts is the total for that guy. I get some protection and other annoying bits that will make people upset to attack me - Str 5, In 6 force weapons that automatically turn is pretty spicey.

HEROES OF ARMAGEDDON!

So if you click on the link to the right - you get to look at what I will be helping with in the coming months. Yup that is right - this here Lucky Goatboy gets to do some charity work and paint up some Orks. I am heading the Speed Freaks army and you will start to see more orks pop up on this board. As well as the other awesome things I do from time to time. I've hit the ground running since coming back from Chicago and have kept up with my painting desires as well as some art stuff.

First of all - if you want me to draw on a bag come find me wherever I am playing at and I can draw on it. I know that isn't good for everyone - but I should be going to other events and shindigs. I will post where and when I go to these things. I think the next one is the Alamo GT (Which I should pay for next week!) and the ATC thing up in Atlanta when I am on team Jerk Face in the Face (not the name but I don't care I say what I want!). The plan for Alamo is Grey Knights so I ordered my army and hopefully will have it ready by May.

I am taking that bomber with me to work to mess with it tomorrow. Hopefully I can get a lot of it done so I can look at figuring out how to paint the jerk. Plus I have a Nurgle Baneblade to finish up too. I am currently waiting on initial payment for another Speed Freaks Army - it is hear waiting on Deposit as well as some upcoming CSM stuff, some more Grey Knight stuff, as well as other Grey Knight stuff. Lord I just like to paint. I have a feeling the Grey Knights might be the last marine army I plan on painting. I am almost done with the Iron Warriors and feel I am tired of painting marine armor. So will see if something new makes me have to paint it.

Again for anyone interested the Word Bearers are up for sale - $800.00 bucks includes the shipping to the States if you are interested. Last post had what is in the army and it looks pretty damned cool on the table top. I will probably throw it up on Ebay before long but if I could sell it direct it would be great. BOOP BOOP BOOP!!! Update before Adepticon

Last night sucked ass at work so no painting for me. Something broke and it made the last part of my day pretty terri-bad. I didn't work on any cartoons or anything else. The only good thing is I built a 10 man Iron Warriors squad to go with the Rhino I did and pictured below. Woohoo.

So right now I need to get a crap ton of rhinos for my future 2 armies. Blargh!!! 2 more for the Iron Warriors and 5 for the Grey Knights army I initially built. I might drop some to make some foot stuff - but for right now I need em! So you can see what I am going for when I hit Adepticon. Look out trade bins - I am on the prowl. Beyond that I plan on buying 2 sets of Autocannon arms for my Psyflemen Dreads (FU YOU KIRBY!!! I like that name now...). Look for lists next week when I get back and start really going into terrible list building. I think I am one of the few ones that just loves tons of powered armored Dick heads on the table top.

The list I am playing at Adepticon should go up on Bols sometime soon so look for more cries of WAAC, asshole, or whatever else people want to say about it. There are not razorbacks, one normal Long Fang squad and one weird one and lots of other things. I kinda wish I could fit in a Wolf Scout squad but 1850 makes me mad. MAD!!! Can't wait till we go back to 2000 points and I can feel safe and sound like a new born kitten clawing someone's eyes out. ARRROOOO!!!

I don't know what I am going to play for the Alamo - I need to pay for it first - but it might be Grey Knights or Iron Warriors. Those two only. I don't feel like throwing anything else down as those are the two armies I want to play. Iron warriors because - it is Dreadnoughts and Dreadnoughts kick ass and Grey Knights cuz I like pretty new things.

Right now these are the things I am going to paint no matter what for the Iron Warriors. Things might change later on but these are for sure!

Grey Knights are looking at me painting lots of regular dudes. I think I need 6 boxes of regular guys and then whatever I can think up for Henchmen. I got some IG stuff laying around too so this should be fun. Crazy chained up Psykers too. I just have to hope that there isn't any Grey Knight Storm Ravens.

Sunday before Adepticon

Not really nervous - just excited to get a vacation into 40k fun. You all know what I plan on playing - Grammar Wolves! Woohoo. Full list will be posted on Bols at some point. No razorbacks either so everyone can shut the hell up haha. I also finished up some commission work this week and overall had a crazy paint week. This week will be slow due to just setting things up and getting ready for the road trip from hell hah.

So far I have some interesting Grey Knights thoughts. Most likely a good core of 30 to 40 scoring troops. The guys are fragile no matter what you think of 3+ armor especially when you mix in that no matter what they are the only threat the army has. That is what I find interesting in all the lists - if all you have is Razorbacks then it is easy for the opponent to choose what to kill. I mean really - there is no bad option to shoot at as the range you have is short and it is easy to figure out the threat. Just shoot what is going to get within 24 and call it a day. Yeah you could assault them but really if you are seeing small weenie squads of 5 in a box then just shoot them. You can easily do 6 or so wounds and that kills 2 of them most of the time. Get that Justicar out of there and they are leadership 8 - welcome to Tank shocking for the win. That is just me. But hell I like to play full 10 man squads.

I am enjoying the Iron Warriors build so far. It is fun and it looks neat. Who knows how good the army will be as it is low on overall troop choices. Yes there are 4 but I only have 20 true scoring units and lots of robots. But F it I love me some robots damnit! Look for one more post on Wednesday before I go and hopefully get another dreadnought or two from the Iron Warriors side.

Another neat thing I drew on my friends Battle Foam bag. I just whipped this up in about 20 or so minutes on the bag. Markers are fun. I plan on bringing some markers when I hit Adepticon so if you want something give me a shout and some booze and I can sketch something out. Unless of course you hate it and me.

Woohoo Wednesday Update

Adepticon, adepticon - coming in a week. Woohoo!! Can't wait. Playing Word Bearers as their official tournament. Will see how I feel about them afterwards. I really want to play Grey Knights so I will probably be working on those lists for awhile to find what kind of nonsense makes me feel good. I still think more guys is better no matter what. Just more and more dudes need to hit the table.

Look for more lists on Bols at some point. Then of course it will come here as I figure things out. Fun times indeed. I don't know how good the army is - they are just too small in a lot of ways or two fragile too. Just not a whole lot of targets which usually makes it easier for your opponent can "choose" better who to shoot or target. Blargh. But will see.

So quick update on where the painting is - I just have magnets to put on some bases to finish my Word Bearers off - as well as get my banner pole built and designed. The plan is to go on my lunch to Home Depot and grab some pvc pipes and connections. Fun times. Here is the banner.

So all in all good on the time frame. I got some art stuff to do this weekend as well and some graphic design work to go to a meeting for on Friday. Plus the marathon paint session on Saturday at Nick's. Beyond that I am working on planning some new things - Podcast and a webcomic. So look for those. I will talk about it more as I get things together. I know how the fuck do I have all the time? I don't I just like to hear myself talk and think hahahah.

Look for display base pictures probably on Sunday. So if you want a nice small base to show your stuff off - magnetic too then I can give a price set on it. Usually it isn't too much as the basic material isn't too bad. It is a thought if people are interested.

So yeah - just some robots and dudes. It probably won't work but at least it will look friggin cool. Current test schemes for the army.




I need to get some more dreads and will look at doing some kind of cool conversion with reaper autocannons and something to make the rifleman dreads.

Current thought Grey Knights are looking at Purifier based armies with some utility and other tricky bits. That is the current thought right now and what I plan on building towards. Will see if it works :). But here is the test Grey Knight scheme.



Obviously he used to be a Blood Angel that has been taken in by the Grey Knights. As I get more time looking at the book I will get more pieces done. I know I need to get a Tech Marine and a Vindicare. The Vindicare is exactly what this list needs and I can't wait to start making people mad when I get rid of their Storm Shield/Shadow Field/And whatever other BS thing I can knock off.

Finally a big shot of the Word Bearer/Grammar Wolves army. There are more minis but this is basically the end list with some small changes. Lots of dudes and guns. Cuz I like to go pew pew. I'll probably put it up for sale next month for anyone interested.

It's Sunday!

The "beginning" of my work week. Totally awesome right? Well it is usually an easy day so that is good. Better to start off easy and shake the weekend rust off. This weekend was a long one. Friend's wedding that the wifey was a part of. That meant a long day waiting around for things to happen. I finished my book and started doodling around with an army list and more cartoon workings on my new endeavor. Will see if it shows up sooner then later. But all in all it was kinda meh weekend.

I did get some things done. I shipped off the Reaver as well as the Vampire. I also shipped off some small things and built a LR that needed to get done for this week that finishes off another commission. I actually painted it today so all in all a good time. I also "finished" my taxes and owe some monies. It makes me a sad panda but at least I have it to pay it. I figure that it isn't too bad and it just means I pretty much got all the money I should get during the year and didn't put it in a crummy "savings" account. Fun times indeed.

I plan on trying to get on the streaming TV this Friday. I got locked into finishing some things before going out for a BBQ/Fajita session with some old friends. He has some freetime so it is bro hanging out time. So will see. Hopefully I can get the lot of this done. It will feel good damnit :).

I keep thinking I want to play a Dreadnought list and the thought of the Iron Warriors paint scheme is screaming at me. Most likely that will mean Blood Angels as it gives me the most Dreadnoughts to mess around with. The question is do I go where my brain wants to go with an all out balls to the walls kill fest or go another direction. I will probably mix it up as I usually do.

Yeah this is just an dumb extreme list. But it has a crap ton of robots which is all I care about. Man I am starting to dislike 1850 haha. Will I build it? Who the hell knows. It will really matter if I grab one of those dreadnoughts and paint it up all Iron Warrior like. If it hits me right then this bastard army will get built. That is just how I am hah.
